Welcome to the Physiological Plant Ecology Group at ETH Zurich!

News April 2013

We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher with a background in biogeochemistry, organic geochemistry or ecosystem sciences to join our group. The position is within the SNF project “ALPWAX - Developing a molecular ISOSCAPE for an alpine watershed to mechanistically assess the spatial varia-bility of leaf wax lipid dD values in plants, soils and sediments” . Plants are fundamental components of the earth system. Their ability to assimilate atmospheric carbon dioxide, to take up nitrogen and to transpire water governs biogeochemical cycles and determines the provision of ecosystem goods and services that we as people depend on.

In the Physiological Plant Ecology Group we investigate the physiological processes in plants that determine the fluxes of water, nitrogen and carbon in ecosystems. The goal of our work is to understand how plants and ecosystems function in the context of their environment and to reveal how plants shape the provision of ecosystem goods and services in the face of global environmental change.
